P.E. teacher accused of sexual misconduct

A physical education teacher in the Phoenix Elementary School District has been arrested for alleged sexual conduct with a minor.
 
Authorities say 36-year-old Nicole Renee Wooten was taken into custody Wednesday evening by Tempe police.

Wooten is employed at  Herrera School for the Fine Arts and Dual Language in Phoenix.

Police say Wooten is being held on suspicion of three counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
 
At the time of alleged sexual conduct in 2005, police say the victim was an eighth-grade student at Herrera School.  
Court documents show the girl was 12 years old at the time and the alleged incidents occurred at Wooten's residence in Mesa.
 
Tempe police say they initially received information from Phoenix police and detectives began an investigation.
