A Michigan Avenue bank was robbed Thursday afternoon by a man who passed a note to a teller demanding money.
About 1:15 p.m., the Citibank branch at 180 N. Michigan Ave. was robbed by a 5-foot-5-inch black man wearing a knee-length winter parka, said FBI Special Agent Joan Hyde.
The man did not display a weapon and instead demanded an unspecified amount of money with a written note, Hyde said. He fled on foot in a unknown direction.
There have been at least 28 bank robberies in the Chicago metropolitan area this year, according to the FBI.
