A new superbug virus strain is spreading quickly and is hard to kill.
Dr. Roshini Raj, a gastro-enterologist at NYU Langone Medical Center, discussed the dangers associated with the superbug during Good Day New York on Thursday.
at least seven deaths were traced to the infection in an outbreak at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in 2012
the superbug springs from a type of bacteria that is resistant to antibiotics and can linger in the body for more than one year
the bacteria can cause pneumonia, intestinal and urinary tract infections and bloodstream infections
doctors say it is impossible to eradicate the superbug
