Ralph Grajek, 46, of Orland Park, was charged with felony home invasion and ordered held on a $200,000 bond Wednesday, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.
Grajek is accused of breaking into a in Palos Heights home, injuring the 49-year-old woman inside, then ripping out a telephone line when she tried to call for help, a statement from the sheriff's office said.
Grajek entered the home about 12:45 a.m. on Feb. 17 and struck the woman in the face several times, police said. When she tried to call police, he ripped the phone from the wall and drove off in a black SUV.
The woman refused medical attention, according to police, who arrested Grajek without incident Feb. 25 in Chicago Ridge.
