WASHINGTON -

Music legend Stevie Wonder was one of three honorees Tuesday night at the historic Howard Theatre.

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation applauded Wonder, former Florida Congresswoman Carrie Meek and Time Warner Inc. for their roles in preserving the legislative accomplishments of African Americans. It was the Foundation's annual Avoice Heritage Celebration.

On the music program paying tribute to Wonder were singer Dionne Warwick, French harmonicist Frederic Yonnet, hip hop artist Doug E. Fresh, singer Maysa Leak and gospel Stellar Award winner Maurette Clark Brown.
