WASHINGTON -
A Maryland mother is using the tragic loss of her 15-year-old daughter to help garner support a new bill designed to make cyberbullying on social media illegal and punishable.
Christine McComas says her daughter Grace committed suicide Easter Sunday last year after she was repeatedly harassed on social media sites.
House Bill 396, introduced this year by Maryland Del. Jon Cardin (D - Baltimore County, District 11), faces a Judiciary Committee hearing next month, which will be one of many hurdles it will face before it would become law.
