CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
Bond was set Tuesday for three women, charged along with a 14-year-old girl with robbing two other women Sunday morning on the Near North Side.
The suspects approached two 21-year-old women who were walking in the 0-100 block of East Grand Avenue about 1:10 a.m. Sunday, police said.
The suspects became involved in a physical altercation with the women before robbing them of personal items and fleeing, police said.
Near North District officers were able to arrest the suspects, who were positively identified by the victims and witnesses, police said.
Charged with one felony count each of robbery and one misdemeanor count each of battery were Erica D. Riley, 18, of the 16700 block of Butterfield Drive in Country Club Hills; Leah E. Robinson, 22, of the 6900 block of South Oglesby Avenue; and Aliyah L. Thompson, 22, of the 8500 block of South University Avenue. A 14-year-old girl was also charged as a juvenile.
Bond was set Tuesday at $50,000 for Robinson, and $25,000 each for Riley and Thompson. The teen was released to her parents.
Riley, Thompson and Robinson face a preliminary hearing March 5. The teen will next appear in juvenile court on April 1.
