Police say the five men have confessed to taking part in the crime.
Police say developments in the investigation along with Crime Solvers tips led detectives to the five suspects.
Police say the men were in a white van and pulled up on Walker as he walked along 28th Avenue in Hillcrest Heights with a box of Timberland boots in a bag. As the robbery was announced, Walker turned to run and was shot in the back. The shoes were never touched. The men stayed in the van and fled the scene.
Two of the five men, Kevin Smith and Jermani Whitner live just a few blocks from where Walker was gunned down.
