Prince George's County Police say five people have been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of 15-year-old Suitland High School student Charles Walker Jr.

Police have arrested Derryck Antonio Green, 20, of Alexandria, Jermani Maurice Whitner, 18, of Temple Hills, Glenn Cornell Leach, 23, of Southeast D.C., Tayvon Delonte Williams, 21, of Oxon Hill, and Kevin J. Smith, 21, of Temple Hills. All five are charged with first-degree murder.

Three of the suspects are in custody in Prince George's County and the other two are in custody in Washington D.C.

Police say the five men have confessed to taking part in the crime.

Police say developments in the investigation along with Crime Solvers tips led detectives to the five suspects.

Police say the men were in a white van and pulled up on Walker as he walked along 28th Avenue in Hillcrest Heights with a box of Timberland boots in a bag. As the robbery was announced, Walker turned to run and was shot in the back. The shoes were never touched. The men stayed in the van and fled the scene.

Two of the five men, Kevin Smith and Jermani Whitner live just a few blocks from where Walker was gunned down.
