UPPER MARLBORO, Md. -
The murder trial of a man accused of killing a mother and her adult daughter is expected to get underway, Tuesday, in Upper Marlboro, Md.
Jason Thomas Scott is accused of killing Deloris DeWitt, 42, and her daughter, Ebony DeWitt, 20, in March of 2009.
The womens' bodies were discovered in a burning car.
The trial's beginning was delayed, according to a source familiar with the case, because of the attempted suicide, Monday night, of a prosecution witness.
The witness is a female relative of the victims who discovered they were missing from their home in Largo.
The witness is currently in a local hospital, according to the source.
The trial is expected to begin with opening statements and other prosecution witnesses later Tuesday afternoon.
