
Prince George's County police are investigating the murder of a 15-year-old student from Suitland High School in Hillcrest Heights.
Officers responded to the 400 block of 28th Avenue for a welfare check call at around 4:20 p.m. Police say officers found the male victim on the ground suffering from trauma to his body.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Anyone with information on this murder is urged to contact the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925. A reward of up to $25,000 is offered to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
Statement from Prince George's County Public Schools:
"We are deeply sadden by the tragic death of one of our students. These senseless acts of violence against our children are becoming all too familiar and far too common. We extend our deepest condolences to the student's family and friends during this very difficult time. Grief counselors will be available to assist our students, teachers and staff for as long as it is necessary."
