HILLCREST HEIGHTS, Md. -
Prince George's County police are investigating the murder of a 15-year-old student from Suitland High School in Hillcrest Heights.
Officers responded to the 400 block of 28th Avenue for a welfare check call at around 4:20 p.m. Police say officers found the male victim on the ground suffering from trauma to his body.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

"We are deeply sadden by the tragic death of one of our students. These senseless acts of violence against our children are becoming all too familiar and far too common.
