ALEXANDRIA, Va. -
A man has been killed after a police-involved shooting in Alexandria.
The shooting occurred in front of the Quaker Village Apartments at Duke Street and Wheeler Avenue.
Police responded to the scene for a call of a domestic situation.
"Several things were happening during the domestic," said Alexandria Police Chief Earl Cook. "There seemed to be some tension within the family there. And then the officers were confronted by a gentlemen and then we ended up with the shooting."
Police say the man had a weapon and a weapon was recovered after the shooting.
Police have not released the name of the man killed or others who may have been involved in the domestic dispute.
