WINDER, Ga. -
What is the most expensive thing you have ever bought online? How about a car?
A new website allows users to buy used cars online. The problem is you don't get a test drive, but rather a seven day period to kick the tires and see if it fits you.
The company is called Carvana. They are hoping to change the way consumers buy cars. Everything from picking out the car to financing it is all done online. They tout themselves as not being a dealership.
Carvana has offices in the Atlanta area with special rooms equipped to capture the vehicle to put online. One room shoots the exterior as well as the interior and can give 360 degree views inside from three different angles. All of the shoots are done in high resolution. The end product is a virtual online tour of each car.
They also promote full disclosure and will show you where there are scratches or minor defects.
