A 19-year-old college student from Long Island collapsed inside an East Village lobby then later died early Saturday morning, according to police.
Jocelyn Pascucci, a Stony Brook University student from East Meadow, was found by a doorman unconscious in a building lobby at East 12th Street and Third Avenue around 5:00 a.m.
Authorities say Pascucci had been bar-hopping in the neighborhood and was drunk, which may have exacerbated her heart condition.
Pascucci got separated from friends and walked a short distance to the apartment building, wearing only one shoe. The doorman told police he let her into the building because she looked cold and drunk.
Passcucci was rushed by EMS to Beth Israel Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police said there was no sign of trauma on Pascucci, who was a Marine Vertebrate Biology major at Stony Brook.
