"FU Sandy " Beer Tapped To Help Sandy Relief Effort

SOMERDALE, N.J. -

The keg is tapped on Flying Fish's special brew with a special name  at P. J. Whelihan's in Cherry Hill.

The beer's actually called "Forever Unloved Sandy"--but most just abbreviate the name

There were a lot of bad feelings about the storm and we wanted the name to have a Jersey attitude and a name people won't forget, " explained Gene Muller, president of Flying Fish. We came up with 'Forever Unloved ' and we liked the way it abbreviated.

Muller says proceeds from the sale of the suds will be poured into the Hurricane Sandy relief effort.

"We're giving every penny to charity," said Muller.

The Somerdale, New Jersey based brewery plans to raise $50,000 dollars.

They' ve already sold out the  86 and a half kegs of the special wheat-pale ale mix.

Helping the company raise $43,000  so far.

He hopes to raise the rest by selling T-shirts and pint  glasses online.

"I  spent my entire life  going to the shore and here's a chance to
kind of give something back."

Now when you go to some New Jersey and Philly area bars, you'll be able to raise your pints for a purpose.

"My one sister had her house decimated by Sandy. So yes,  it hits home," explained Michael Perro, Director of Operations at P. J. Whelihan's. "It's fantastic and a great idea. We're  really happy to be part of it. Flying Fish did a great job with this .
