One seafood restaurant in Japan charges customers who leave leftovers and gives the added fee to fisherman who hauled in the catch.

According to a report on rocketnews24.com, Hachikyo – a popular seafood restaurant in Sapporo – will only serve tsukko meshi, a dish of rice and salmon roe, to customers who agree to eat the whole meal.

The owner, Hitoshi Sugita, explains that the rules are in place to show gratitude and appreciation for the food the fisherman provide by working in harsh and dangerous conditions.

Sugita told rocketnews24.com that it is forbidden to leave even one grain of rice and that customers who do must give a donation.
