Contractors broke ground on a "smart phone" being built for a Marine veteran who lost three limbs in Afghanistan. It'll have state of the art technology allowing the man to control most things with his iPad.
Marine Cpl. Todd Love lost his arm and both legs in 2010.
"My job was to keep away from the explosives, to try to protect the rest of the platoon. You know, there really isn't a good way to find them. They get better every day and we're always having to change our tactics. They got the best of me that day," Love said.
The Gary Sinise and Tunnel to Towers foundations will build Love's house.
"He's going to, on his iPad, be able to open the door. It opens for him and after he goes back in, it closes behind him. The lights will come on automatically through sensors. The heating, air conditioning -- all done off these sensors and off the iPad," said Frank Siller of Tunnel to Towers.
After losing so much in war, Love can't believe he's being given so much.
"They're making it into something beautiful. They're taking something that could be something sad and they're making good. And to me, it's awesome," Love said.
Love got behind some of the equipment to do some hands-on groundbreaking.
