An elderly man has been found dead inside his home in the Del Ray area of Alexandria.
Alexandria police officials are calling this only a suspicious death investigation. But a source at the scene with knowledge of what happened here says the 94-year-old victim was killed during an apparent burglary or robbery.
Police say another resident at the home found the 94-year-old man suffering from upper body trauma. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
Sources say it was an adult son or stepson who found his father alone in the house.
Alexandria Police Deputy Chief Cleveland Spruill says they have no information about a possible killer or description of a murder suspect.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
