Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy has lifted a travel ban in the state but people are still encouraged to stay off the streets.

On Interstate-95 North where front loaders worked to carve out a single slow lane of traffic.

"On the highway? It sucks, it just sucks."

To the countless side streets, buried beneath as much as three feet of snow.

"This is the worst blizzard I have actually experienced."

Frustration in Connecticut is mounting –

"They haven't plowed any city streets."

Gene Ramos spent the morning trying to dig out his pickup from this intersection in Bridgeport--- where it got stuck last night.

"We spent the night inside the gas station, it was nice to let us do that," said Ramos.

The first blizzard to hit the state in two years forced Metro North to suspend service and has already claimed the lives of at least four people including an elderly woman says Governor Dan Malloy.

A woman who was using a snow blower last evening was hit by a car. The car did not stop so it falls under the hit and run category.

Malloy lifted a state travel ban, but overnight, many people ignored the order paying the price -- their vehicles stranded in the blinding blast of winter weather.

"It looks like it's going to take a lot of determination."

While some try to enjoy it, turning hills into sled zones -- it could be Sunday before all streets are plowed.

Jose Aviles says he'll be patient.

"It is tough the guys working and I see them working hard."
