BLADENSBURG, Md. -
Prince George's County police are investigating a fatal shooting that involved three police officers in Bladensburg.
Bladensburg Police say officers were called to the 4200 block of 53rd Avenue Friday night for a disturbance involving a woman brandishing a knife. Officers knocked on the apartment door of 43 year-old Tonya Michelle Buggs in an effort to make contact with her. The department says Buggs lunged at the officers with the knife, and the officers fired their weapons at her.
Buggs was taken to Prince George's Hospital Center where she died.
The officers have been placed on routine administrative leave while the Prince George's County police department investigates.
