DC police identify 2 people killed in R Street, SE fire

WASHINGTON -

District of Columbia police have released the identities of two people killed in a fatal fire in southeast Washington earlier this week.

Police say 51-year-old Glenn Morris Williams and 56-year-old Diane Toogood died in Tuesday's fire, which occurred in a two-story apartment building on the 1700 block of R Street, SE.

The cause is still under investigation, but authorities said the building was blighted and appeared to have been occupied by squatters. Police say neither victim had a fixed address.
