Dobson High School was placed in lockdown Friday morning after a few threatening incidents occur on campus.
The school is located near Guadalupe and Dobson Roads.
A threatening message was found written on a mirror in the girls' bathroom Thursday, and it was resolved, but Friday another student mentioned the word "bomb" while in class, prompting the evacuation.
"The student, once he realized that this was not a joke, had immediately recanted his statement but once the wheels are in motion certainly we're going to do everything we can to ensure safety of students and staff here at the school," says Mesa Police Det. Steve Berry.
The student was detained and no bomb was found on campus.
The lockdown was lifted by 11 a.m. and students returned to their classrooms.
