ATLANTA -

One week ago, two tornadoes touched down in northwest Georgia. The largest was an EF-3 tornado packing winds of 160 miles per hour. It was on the ground for nearly 25 miles. Hundreds of homes in Bartow and Gordon counties were damaged or destroyed and one person was killed.

An EF-1 tornado also damaged five homes in Fannin County.

Recovery in all three counties could take months.

This week is Severe Weather Preparedness week and the FOX 5 Storm Team wants to make sure you and your families are ready for the potential for severe weather.
