PINE HILL, N.J. -
A New Jersey middle school art teacher and boys' soccer coach faces 92 counts as a result of a child abuse investigation, according to prosecutors.
Charles Reilly, 44, of East Pine Street, in Pine Hill, N.J., was arrested in 2011 and indicted by a grand jury last month. That document was made public Wednesday.
Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Pine Hill Police Chief Chris Winters said in a news release that Reilly taught at Pine Hill Middle School.
Reilly faces counts of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, officials misconduct, luring or enticing a child, attempted creation and distribution of child pornography, and hindering apprehension.
Evidence was presented by 17 male students at Pine Hill, resulting in the indictment, prosecutors said.
One student was the victim of sexual touching in June 2007, prosecutors said. Other victims received inappropriate sexual communications from Reilly between 2006 to March 2011, when he was arrested.
The alleged victims ranged in age from 12 to 16 at the time of their interactions with Reilly.
During the investigation, Reilly allegedly engaged in inappropriate sexual interactions over the Internet with an undercover officer posing as a student and asked that officer to delete some of those communications, prosecutors further allege.
Forty-two counts of the child endangerment charges were due to child pornography found in Reilly's possession, none of which appear to be images of children Reilly knew, authorities said.
Reilly has been suspended with pay since his arrest, according to prosecutors.
