PHILADELPHIA -
Mayor Michael Nutter wants tax deadbeats to pay up. On Monday, he announced a five-year, $40-million plan to chase down tax delinquents.
According to Philly.com, this includes an overhaul of the department of revenue's 20-year-old software and a new call center.
One tax delinquent the city is going after is Yuengling Brewery. A new lawsuit claims America's oldest brewery failed to pay more than $6 million in city taxes, interest and penalty fees.
The suit does not say what activities the Pottsville-based company did within Philadelphia that the city determined to be taxable.
