The Talker: Best Super Bowl XLVII Moments

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

About 70 percent of homes in Chicago-area were tuned to the Super Bowl Sunday night.

Stadium managers say the power outage in the superdome was caused by an abnormality in a piece of equipment, but they don't know what caused the abnormality.

One thing they do know is it was not because of Beyonce. Her performance used its own generators.

Everyone has an opinion about Alicia Keys' version of the national anthem. Critics, and other artists, generally liked it, but the general public -- not as much. Many say it was too slow. The song clocked in at 2 minutes and 42 seconds—the longest national anthem ever. The prior record was said to be set in 1994 by Natalie Cole who went 2 minutes and 32 seconds. Some also say Keys tweaked it too much.

Ratings for the game say it was the third most-watched TV broadcast in history. The average viewership was 108 million people, which is about 3 million less than last year's Super Bowl and the year before that.

There was a super dip in internet use during the game. An analysis by the firm "Sandvine" found while everyone was huddled around the TV, internet traffic was 15 percent lower than normal.

With so much talk about commercials, one you didn't see during the game shows comedian Will Farrell making out with a woman who is seemingly a bit older than him. The ad, which is open to interpretation, was for old Milwaukee beer and only aired in Texas, Montana, and Oklahoma.

Ravens Quarterback Joe Flacco scored high marks during the game but during the celebration afterwards, his mouth was down in the potty. He and another player dropped "S" and "F" bombs with cameras and microphones nearby. Now, the Parents Television Council wants federal regulators to punish CBS.
