Staring down a tornado—like some Bartow County residents did just last week—would be a terrifying experience. So, it's hard to believe that when some people encounter that situation, they're still able to grab a camera and capture it on video.
People in Bartow and Gordon counties started their week working to bounce back from last week's tornado. The EF-3 twister touched down at least twice, demolishing homes and businesses.
Video of the twister is a terrifying sight for people who work just a mile from where it touched down. Joyce Keith works for an Adairsville insurance company. While the business owner next door shot video of the storm, she snapped a picture.
Five days later, hundreds of volunteers are still cleaning up. Ironically, this week is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Georgia. That means there's an increased focus on making sure families have a plan for severe weather.
Meanwhile on Monday, funeral services were held for 51-year-old Anthony Reins, who was killed when the tornado touched down in Adairsville.
