Clayton State offering free tax help

Posted: Updated:

MORROW, Ga. (AP) - Accounting students at Clayton State University are lending a helping hand to Georgians this tax season.

School officials say accounting students are participating in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program - which is hosted by the university's business school.

Students are offering free tax preparation help to visitors on a first come, first served basis. Visitors are asked to bring photo identification, social security cards and relevant tax, banking and childcare information. Spouses filing taxes are required to both be present to file returns electronically.

The program is being held in the business school on Saturdays in February and on March 16 and 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Clayton State is in Morrow, about 15 miles south of downtown Atlanta.
