Morehouse rallies against gun violence after shooting

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Students rally and march on the campus of Morehouse College on Saturday after a student there was shot after a basketball game the previous day.

The students want to end gun violence and violent acts such as the one on campus on Friday. The quiet show of solidarity came hours after 20 year old Amir Obafemi, a Clark Atlanta University student, was arrested for allegedly shooting of Morehouse senior Cornelius Savage. Savage was near Archer Hall on Friday when he was shot in the arm after a pick-up basketball game in the gym.

Morehouse College Police Chief Vernon Worthy says Obafemi was with his attorney when he surrendered just before 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fulton County Jail. He credits witnesses for helping officers make such a quick arrest.
