Three West Springfield High School students have been arrested and charged in a child exploitation ring.
The boys are accused of getting teenage girls drunk and making sex tapes. The tapes were made sometimes after the girls had passed out.
The accused teenagers were arrested at West Springfield High School on January 11. One of them is 15 years old. The other two are 16 years old.
Fairfax County police say the accused students victimized six local teenage high school girls in an online porn distribution ring. Some of the girls attended West Springfield High School.
All the suspects and all the alleged victims knew each other.
The sex tapes were reportedly shared among students both on and offline.
It isn't clear when the tapes were made, but the case came to light when a school resource officer learned about sex tapes going around at the school on November 29, 2012. The discovery triggered a police investigation.
The teenage boys are charged with possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation and facilitation of child pornography.
Police aren't sure if there are more alleged victims.
The accused could face more charges as the investigation continues.
