Two men were shot on Friday night as they drove near Powderhorn Park after a spray of bullets erupted in the south Minneapolis neighborhood.
One man was shot in the head, and the other was hit in the arm, according to police. The car crashed into a nearby duplex after the shooting.
So far, Minneapolis police are keeping mum on the investigation, but several witnesses told FOX 9 News they heard seven or eight shots fired before the crash, which shook several homes.
"That was the first thought I had too, was, 'Maybe it was an earthquake,'" recalled Sean Williams. "It was pretty heavy."
The crash literally rattled the neighborhood.
"My house shook too," said Carlos Collins. "Thought they hit our house."
Police say the driver was struck in the head, lost control of the car, and wound up on Williams' front stoop. The vehicle left tracks on the curb and missed a small tree before tearing up the embankment and wiping out metal railings along the way.
"It moved the heavy statue, left a big hole," he said.
Collins said he got down as soon as he heard the gunfire, but soon he heard one of the victims scream, "I'm shot!"
Both victims were taken to HCMC late Friday night.
No arrests have been made so far. At this time, it's unclear whether the shooter -- or shooters -- were in a vehicle at the time or firing on foot from somewhere nearby. One resident told FOX 9 News police towed her car as evidence because a stray bullet had been lodged inside.
Anyone with information is urged to call Minneapolis police.
