Tickets to Phoenix Suns cheaper than a movie theatre

PHOENIX -

It used to be one of the hardest tickets in town -- the Phoenix Suns at US Airways Center. But how times have changed.

The team is the worst it's been in years, and now, going to a Suns game may be cheaper than going to a movie.

A movie can be $10. A Suns ticket can be a lot cheaper.

Maybe not to Thursday night's game against the high-flying Clippers -- but there are deals aplenty for Suns fans.

$2.95 cents for a ticket to a Phoenix Suns game? Believe it.

$2.95 is the price on stubhub.com for an upper-deck seat to see the Suns play the lowly Washington Wizards in March.

At Tickets Unlimited in Scottsdale, Danny Sharaby is selling tickets to the Wizards game for as little as $5.

"I would say that Suns tickets right now are the most affordable they have been in the last 15 years," says Danny Sharaby, ticketsunlimitedinc.com.

There are fewer season ticket holders and many can't go to all the games. Result: ticket bargains. You won't see these low prices if you go to the ticket office in US Airways Center, where we asked for the lowest price for Wizards tickets – which turned out being $14.75.

$5 or $2.75 is a sweeter deal. If you want better seats, you can save too. Take lower level Suns-Lakers tickets next week – they start at $100,

"Would have been $250 a few years ago now, it is one hundred dollars," says Sharaby.

But these deals won't last forever. When the suns start winning again, ticket prices will rise.

"Everything in life is cyclical, sports is cyclical, I am sure the suns will rebound. They will get better players, sometimes it just takes time."

It's not all bad for the team. People buy popcorn and them team builds its fan base.
