CHICAGO (AP) -- University of Illinois-Chicago freshman center Matt Gorski has been dismissed from the school's basketball team for a violation of its rules.
Calling representation of the university a privilege, head coach Howard Moore said Thursday that with the privilege come expectations on and off the court. Moore said it is unfortunate that Matt violated team rules that led to his dismissal from the team. He did not disclose the violations.
Gorski, a native of Chesterfield, Va., did not play in any UIC games this season. He is recovering from a stress fracture in his right foot, sustained during a preseason practice.
