Georgia's talent was on full display on Wednesday's episode of "American Idol." Several talented locals sang their way to Hollywood.

North Gwinnett High School Student Alexa Gilomen says it's a dream come true to be an "Idol" contestant.

The 16-year old from Suwanee auditioned in Charlotte, and from a quick glimpse on Wednesday's show, it appeared that her audition went well.

"It's nerve-wracking -- the entire time, you're just like, 'I don't know when I'm going to leave.'  You don't know if you're going to be what they want," said Gilomen.

The teen who grew up in Gwinnett County watching "American Idol" sings in her high school jazz band. She's posted her songs online.

Show rules prohibit Alexa and her parents from talking about how far she made it on "Idol," but they all agree it was the opportunity of a lifetime.

"I've been pleasantly surprised. You think your 16-year-old not going to be able handle the stress of that huge audition, and yeah, she was nervous, but she handled it beautifully," said Monique Gilomen.

A few other Georgia singers also appeared on Wednesday's show, including 27-year-old Brian Rittenberry of Jasper and Isabel Gonzalez of Alpharetta. The judges sent both of those contestants to the next round in Hollywood.
