GDOT is still waiting on a more accurate time for when this potential storm could hit. DOT officials say the storm might arrive as late as drive-time Friday morning.
Atlanta had a brief brush with ice during the morning commute last Friday. Georgia DOT spokeswoman Jill Goldberg says those icy conditions has helped them prepare again for this week.
"Well, we have been and we got really prepared last week when we had the expected storm that was supposed to come in," said Goldberg. "Fortunately that was only a little bit of ice here and there and not a major event. We're thankful for that, but we also have all of our equipment ready. So all of the snowplows are ready. All of the trucks have been retrofitted and we're ready to go."
Goldberg went on to say that they will release plans on handling the weather once more information becomes available.
