It's all about not breaking the bank, but taking the time to shop for items in style. "I always tell people that they don't need a lot of money to dress," said Erika L. Thomas, author of 'Love of style by Erika'. Glitter, color, and print describe only a few of Erika's favorite trendy looks.
Erika pairs basic pieces from her closet with her favorite non-traditional clothing items. Some of Erika's classic looks include knit black leggings, black wide leg pants, black and white tank tops and camisoles, pencil skirts and collarless blazers. Her untraditional favorites include a black and white striped blazer, floral pencil skirt, leopard print blouse and her chambray top. She enjoys pairing bracelets, earrings, colorful boots and pumps, trendy nails, purses and scarves with her looks.
Erika started her blog as a place to give style tips on how she dresses, but when she found out that she was helping people in the process, she was motivated to keep blogging. Many people do not know that the average dress size for today's American woman is a 14. Erika helps full-figured women find looks to love.
Focusing on one item at a time while shopping is one of Erika's many tips. "Take your time and focus on an actual item. If you're shopping for blazers, look for blazers, then go for blouses, things like that, or you can use online vintage shops if you want to pay a little more."
Some of Erika's beauty & style tips include: Find classic pieces and mix and match them with color and print Check out your closet for 'hidden gems' (basics that can easily be paired with colors and prints) Use anything as your inspiration for your nails. Feel free to get creative with glitter, designs, and cool colors. Remember you can change it with a swipe of a cotton ball and nail polish remover. You can add sparkle with sequins in gold, silver or any color to a black outfit Bold red lip? Balance it with a neutral eye. For a special event you could opt for lashes to make your eyes pop. Get the most of your makeup by adding gloss to your matte lipstick.
