Two new Fox News polls reflect the mood of the country on issues that seem to be on everyone's minds -- gun control and government spending.
An overwhelming majority of the more than 1,000 people polled -- all selected at random -- are in agreement: our government spends too much and gun control laws won't prevent tragedies.
Here are those numbers:

-- 22% said tougher laws will help
-- Despite this big split, a majority of voters said they are in favor of strengthening our gun control laws
When it comes to government spending, American voters increasingly think we've lost our way:
-- 83% of those polled said our government spending is out of control
