PHOENIX -

Police are investigating another deadly shooting that happened over the weekend and they say the man who pulled the trigger wasn't initially involved.

The shooting happened during an argument between two brothers, Mardell and Merrell Curley and their other brother, Theodore at an apartment complex near 17th Street and Indian School Road Saturday night.

Police say somehow, a neighbor got involved and the brothers began threatening the neighbor with a knife and threw rocks into his apartment.

That's when the neighbor shot Theodore and killed him.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the 17-year-old dead.

Investigators say the three were drinking heavily before the argument.

One of the rocks the brothers threw struck the suspect in the head.

They were booked for aggravated assault as a result.

Investigators say the shooter won't face any charges.
