Two shoppers were ambushed by gunmen at the parking lot of a Gwinnett County Wal-Mart early Saturday morning.
Gwinnett County Police tell FOX 5 News that the two shoppers were at the Wal-Mart located in the 1800 block of Rockbridge Road shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday.
The two robbers approached the first shopper, a 20-year-old man, and demanded his keys, wallet and cell phone. That's when the second shopper, a 35-year-old man who had parked next to the first man, walked by the robbers. They stopped him and demanded the same, but he did not stop. That is when one of the suspects shot the man in the black of the leg.
The man who was shot was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery.
The two victims ran off towards the store as the robbers fled the scene. Police are searching for a blue 2010 Honda Fit with Georgia tags PFE 8356.
Surveillance video showed the men had arrived in a different vehicle which was later determined to have been involved in a carjacking the previous night in Atlanta.
The victims did not give a good description of the men other than they were young. Anyone with further information should contact the Gwinnett County Police at 770-513-5700.
