The King Center has planned a 10-day observance of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday this year.
This year's theme is "50 Years Forward," looking back at the Civil Rights Movement in 1963 and looking forward to what's in the future.
A big part of the observance will focus on the church bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala., and a letter King wrote from inside a jail cell.
The MLK observance kicks off on Saturday and will run until his birthday on Jan. 21.
