CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
FOX football analyst Jimmy Johnson made an interesting tweet Friday morning concerning the search for the new Chicago Bears head coach.
The former Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins head coach claimed that Marc Trestman, the head coach of the CFL's Montreal Alouettes will be the next coach of the Bears.
"Looks like 2 of my guys getting NFL jobs ... Chud Cleveland and my QB coach at U Trestman to Chicago," Johnson wrote on Twitter.
Johnson later backtracked saying it looks like it's not a done deal.
Trestman was formerly a quarterbacks coach on Johnson's staff at the University of Miami from 1981 to 1984. Testman denied the tweet, but did meet with the Bears' GM, Phil Emery, earlier this week.
Jarrett Payton, the son of former Bears great Walter Payton, tweeted Friday that Trestman would have been his choice.
"Reports are saying my old CFL coach Marc Trestman is the new coach of the Bears. Love the guy! He would have been my choice," Payton said.
There has been no official announcement from the Bears yet and Johnson's tweet is just a rumor.
Bears General Manager Phil Emery has three meetings with potential head coaching candidates scheduled for the weekend.
