The Cobb County man accused of murdering his ex-wife went before a judge on Thursday. John Kristofak is charged with the murder of his ex-wife Donna Nations Kristofak the weekend before Christmas.
Kristofak was quiet as the judge continued his probation revocation hearing until next month. Three of Donna's friends attended the hearing, and say they will continue to show up.
"Donna cannot be in the courtroom herself anymore. And without her here, she has to have a voice and a presence. And John can never walk into court and not see a family member because we never want him to think that we've gone away, or that somehow Donna has become insignificant," said Donna Kristofak's friend, Sharon Hess.
Back in October, Donna Kristofak told a judge she feared for her life before her ex-husband was released from jail on probation.
In a related development, Fayetteville police say they have identified John Kristofak as the person who robbed a Fayetteville Rite Aid store on December 26.
Police say Kristofak walked into the store and back to the drug counter where he gave a clerk a threatening note.
"It basically said, I have a gun. Give me a certain amount of Adderall. Give me all your Adderall in this milligram," said Det. Mike Whitlock of the Fayetteville Police Department.
Adderall is stimulant and used to treat narcolepsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder according to drugs.com.
Kristofak left with the pill bottle. The next time it would be seen is when U.S. Marshals stormed a Union City motel room the next day and arrested him.
Surveillance footage showed Kristofak in a black pickup truck. Police said that the truck was not his, and they are not sure who it belongs to.
They say he is facing charges of robbery by intimidation.
Kristofak was on the run from the law for the stabbing death of his ex-wife for nearly a week.
