Your lawmakers on Capitol Hill might need an image makeover as a new poll finds Congress' overall favorability rating standing at just 9 percent -- with 85 percent calling them "unfavorable."
Public Policy Polling surveyed 830 American voters from January 3rd to January 6th.
When respondents were asked if they have a higher opinion of either Congress or a series of unpleasant or disliked things, people surveyed had a higher opinion of root canals, colonoscopies and head lice.
They also had a higher opinion of NFL replacement referees, traffic jams, the rock band Nickelback, used-car salesmen, cockroaches, Donald Trump, Genghis Khan and brussel sprouts.
Women viewed congress slightly more favorably than men.
The poll also found democrats like congress more than republicans do.
But according to the poll, congress did rank higher than former presidential candidate John Edwards, Lindsay Lohan, Fidel Castro, the Kardashians, the sexually-transmitted disease gonorrhea, lobbyists and meth labs.
One strange highlight to the poll carried out every year by an automated telemarketer.
When respondents were asked, if they favored congress, or the people on the other end of the phone, congress came out ahead by a margin of 45 to 35 percent.
