GAITHERSBURG, Md. -
Two pedestrians have been struck by a car in Gaithersburg Monday evening.
The accident happened just after 9 p.m. at the intersection of N. Frederick Road (Route 355) and Shady Grove Road.
Both victims, a man and a woman, are in critical condition and have been transported to local hospitals.
The striking vehicle did stay on the scene.
It is unclear if the pedestrians were in a crosswalk.
Montgomery County Police say southbound Route 355 at O'Neill Drive and the westbound lanes of Shady Grove Road at Route 355 are closed due to the accident.
