Body pulled from lake in NJ

NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

New Jersey State Police pulled a body on Tuesday from a partially frozen lake in Mount Olive, New Jersey, where two teens had fallen through the ice.

Police riding on a fan boat pulled the body from under ice, reported FOX 5 News' Ti-Hua Chang.

Cops received multiple 911 calls at around 6:20 p.m. Monday about at least one person in distress in Budd Lake.

An exhaustive search on Monday turned into a recovery effort the following morning.

The father of one of the missing teens who fell through ice into the frigid waters told reporters on Tuesday morning he knew "there is no hope."

After Clyde Schmenski, 15, and another teen fell in, two men went onto the ice to save them but were not successful. Those people safely came back to shore, a source said.

"It hurts my heart. Until they pull him out, I'll be a little different. I'll hold tight. I want to know they find him," said Clyde Schmanski, the father of the younger Schmanski.

A massive effort ensued to find the boys from seven different towns. The younger Clyde Schmanski had been riding his bike before he disappeared, according to his father.

Video from SkyFoxHD on Monday night showed dozens of first responders on the scene. Rescuers walked out onto the frozen surface of Budd Lake in search of the missing teens.

A State Police helicopter patrolled the sky above the lake on Monday night to help in the search.
