Lights Back On For Philly Neighborhood Damaged By Sandy

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

The lights are finally back on for residents who live on a street in Oxford Circle that was without street lights ever since Superstorm Sandy made its way through the area.

On Monday, a call to PECO from FOX 29 helped to turn the lights back on.

Two months ago, a tree that uprooted due to Sandy caused a line to come down, which led to the power outage of three street lights along Brill Street.

Residents tell FOX 29's Lauren Cohn they tried calling PECO and the streets department but have been getting the run around.

Residents say they were concerned for their safety.

FOX 29 reached out to both PECO and the city's streets department. By Monday afternoon, PECO returned our call and fixed the lights in about an hour.
