One of the most popular New Year's resolutions is to get into better shape. Hall County has a launched a program to help its employees meet their fitness goals.
All county employees and their families will get free access to the community fitness centers.
"Wefeel like having healthier employees will make them more efficient, morecreative," said Katie Crumley, a Hall County employee.
Personal trainer Greg Cochran will give them instruction on the equipment, help them with personal goals and lead boot camps three days a week.
"They're going to be doing lunges and squats and pushups and all these body weight movements, medicine balls -- things that are really going to get their heart rate up and get them going," said Cochran.
Most of the boot camps will take place at the county government center, so the workers have no excuses.
"So a lot of the employees that work there, it will just be really easy for them to leave work and come down and participate in this," said Crumley.
As an added incentive for employees to go that extra mile, every time an employee uses one of the facilities, their name gets placed into a hat. At the end of the month, there will be a drawing for a $50 gift card.
The county says it's a win-win situation. Employees have access to all they need to get healthy and the county gets a healthier employee -- not to mention some camaraderie and lifestyle changes that go beyond the 8-hour workday.
The official kick off to the county-wide health initiative isn't for a few more days, but 15 percent of all county employees have already signed up for the program.
