Piedmont Hospital rang in 2013 with the first New Year's baby of the year. Farron "Curtis" Chandler made his grand entrance at exactly midnight.
Farryn Chandler says she still can't believe her son came into this world just in time to ring in 2013. She wasn't expecting him until Friday, Jan. 4 – her birthday.
"It was really shocking to be the first of the year. So that means the New Year is going to start off wonderful and I have a new gift for my birthday," said Chandler.
Chandler told FOX 5 that her water broke early Monday morning but it wasn't until 10 p.m that she realized she needed to head to Piedmont Hospital, where the doctors got her into surgery.
The Chandlers have two other children, an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old who can't wait to meet the youngest member of their family..
"Starting all over and learning all the new baby things to do and taking care of the baby and what not. So they're excited about just trying to do anything they can do to help. Of course all the help is, you know, we will take it," said Chandler.
Curtis Chandler has been sleeping like a champ since his arrival.
