DETROIT (WJBK) -- Clothing at all 33 Salvation Army store locations in Southeast Michigan is 50 percent off on New Year's Day until 10:00 p.m.

This is the Salvation Army's way of helping people start the New Year off on the right foot.  They want to make sure that people who need clothes get them for a very affordable price.

"Sometimes it's unfortunate for people during this time of year that they can't afford anything, so this is a good thing.  Just come out and shop and you might find some good deals," said shopper Stanell Bolden.

"We have clothing from American Eagle to Polo to all your high end fashions to some of your lower end," said Princess Gossett with The Salvation Army.

Don't forget if you have extra stuff at home that you'd like to donate, it's a good tax write off and your helping people.  To do so, just go to your nearest Salvation Army store and drop it off.
