Mummers Ready To Strut Up Broad Street

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

The sequins, the feathers, the music and of course, the strut – people are packing the city streets this morning to watch the annual Mummers Parade.

Yesterday, it was all business in South Philly. Instruments were getting tuned, costumes were getting pressed, and there were final fittings and finishing touches on the famous floats.

And while Mummers may be a New Year's thing to most, in South Philly it's a year-round, life-long affair.

Don't miss the Mummers strutting their stuff! The parade kicks off at 10 a.m.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley was hanging out with members of the Avalon String Band before they stepped off Monday morning and filed this video report.
