BRISTOW, Va. -

Prince William County police say an officer has died after his motorcycle struck a minivan in Bristow.

The crash occurred around 2 p.m. Monday. Police say 35-year-old Officer Chris Yung was on his way to the scene of another accident and was heading south on Nokesville Road when his motorcycle struck the minivan, which was making a left turn into a shopping center. Yung was taken to a hospital, where he died. No one else was injured.

Officer Jonathan Perok, a police spokesman, says the details of the crash remain under investigation.

Yung was a 7-year veteran of the department and worked for the traffic unit.

From Prince William County Police Department

A roadside memorial has been set up at the intersection of Nokesville Rd and Piper Ln. Shrouded police cruisers are also being placed at both districts stations in Woodbridge and Manassas for those wishing to pay their respects. Again, we want to thank our community for the outpouring of support and the other law enforcement agencies from across the country that have sent their condolences.
